Submission Reflection

I think the submission went really well and I hope that the M.P's seriously consider getting more digital learning devices and make classrooms bigger and better so that children can learn faster and more effectively.  In the future I hope that classrooms will be better and bigger with more technology and better, faster computers.  I hope they will make teachers go on learning courses that will teach them how to use computers and technology effectivly and fast so that they can know how to do it and not end up with having to learn it all from the students.

Last Winter: Part 2

The dream washed away rain poured down transforming the snow to slush, not pure white but brown and green with mud and grass.  The snow still flitted down mixed with rain and sleet turning the world into a massive grey cloud smothering the world in darkness and damp.

The snow was drifting down, covering the land in a glistening white blanket.
"It's snowing!" I cried.
It was freezing cold, but it was extremely nice to curl up by the fire and read a good book.
I stayed nice and warm by the fire instead of going outside and getting cold and numbing my toes.

Verbal Submission Speech

Hi I'm Helen, I'm 12, I'm a year 7 and I'm here to talk about comfortable learning spaces.

Last week I visited Amesbury school in Churton park. I liked that the school has lots of space and different types of furniture. The kids at Amesbury loved school so much they didn't want to leave and neither did I.

Most New Zealand schools were built in the 50s or 60s, before I was born, so they are out of date with things like furniture and space.
Students in New Zealand need bright and interesting learning spaces so that they can be comfortable while learning and don’t just have to sit on the hard cold floor.

Children need more space so that they can move around and not just sit still all day so that they don't get hyper and start being naughty.

Schools these days are still based around sitting still all day and there is no space to move.

We should be allowed to draw and share our work and ideas on windows and doors. We need to have the options of small and large spaces so that we can choose to work with our friends or work independently.
