Hi I'm Helen, I'm 12, I'm a year 7 and I'm here to talk about comfortable learning spaces.
Last week I visited Amesbury school in Churton park. I liked that the school has lots of space and different types of furniture. The kids at Amesbury loved school so much they didn't want to leave and neither did I.
Most New Zealand schools were built in the 50s or 60s, before I was born, so they are out of date with things like furniture and space.
Students in New Zealand need bright and interesting learning spaces so that they can be comfortable while learning and don’t just have to sit on the hard cold floor.
Children need more space so that they can move around and not just sit still all day so that they don't get hyper and start being naughty.
Schools these days are still based around sitting still all day and there is no space to move.
We should be allowed to draw and share our work and ideas on windows and doors. We need to have the options of small and large spaces so that we can choose to work with our friends or work independently.
